I’ve noticed that my stories can tend to go long (looking at you, The Service), so in the interest of 1) being able to knock them out faster and 2) keep them focused, I’ve set the goal for myself of making my Jack’s Blacks shorter, around 5–7k. This one was the first to meet that goal, coming in at 6200 words including front matter. Love or hate this shorter format, let me know, and I’ll try to do more of them that way.
